FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE

Facial acupuncture treats the face as an extension of both the emotions and the energy channels of the body – which flow from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head.  It is deeply relaxing and is designed to treat underlying constitutional imbalances as well as the face itself.

When the face is needled, blood and energy (qi) flow increase, carrying nutrients to the cells. The body interprets the insertion of the needle as a “positive” injury which can then stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Facial Acupuncture is deeply relaxing and is designed to treat both, underlying constitutional imbalances, and the face itself.  It promotes health and well-being by:

  • improving the respiratory, digestive, nervous and endocrine systems of the body
  • improving metabolism
  • increasing energy
  • improving immune function
  • reducing stress and aiding self-esteem

It may erase as many as 5 to 15 years from any face – with results apparent after a few treatments by:

  • Improving collagen/elastin production and muscle tone
  • Reducing bags and sagging tendencies/sunken areas are “fleshed out”
  • Eliminating fine lines and diminishing larger wrinkles
  • Reducing double chins and lifting drooping eyelids
  • Tightening pores and brightening eyes
  • Increasing local blood and lymph circulation
  • Improving facial colour and skin radiance.

What to expect?

Each treatment begins with a herbal face wash, followed by a mask utilizing Chinese herbs and heat.  Acupuncture is administered, with needles first placed in the body, to treat constitutional imbalances, and to start circulating qi and blood. Needles are then placed in the face to bring the qi and blood to the areas that are to be treated. This two-stage approach means that qi and blood are made available to be able to nourish the face and treat problems such as wrinkles, discoloration or loss of tone.

Needles will be retained for approximately 20 minutes.  After the needles have been removed another face mask is used to nourish and further lift the face.

Finally, after the mask has been washed away, the face and neck are massaged using a high quality cream that combines Chinese herbs, vitamin C, green tea and pearl powder.

All of the products that we use are organic and preservative-free. They contain no artificial colour or fragrance and have not been tested on animals.  The needles are very fine and are sterile and single-use only.

Each treatment is specifically tailored for the individual

On average, 10 to 15 treatments are needed to deliver visible results.  Monthly
maintenance treatments are recommended once a course has been completed to maintain the benefits seen on the face as well as general health.
